ZRCI Refractory Sheet Type RS-101 is a ceramic fiber reinforced structural alumina product with useful properties to 2300°F (1260°C). It retains strength and utility to levels far exceeding maximum use temperatures of reinforced plastics and asbestos-cement replacements. Type RS-101 not only makes an excellent replacement for rigid asbestos containing products, but also may be employed at much higher temperatures as well. Type RS-101 is 100% inorganic, non-flammable and contains no asbestos. Its high Al2O3 content makes it resistant to many environments including no outgassing on heating, is not brittle, and may be cut and machined with standard tooling. Type RS-101 is available in standard and custom size cylinders.

Refractory Sheet Type RS-100 Boards are ceramic fiber reinforced structural alumina composite material with useful properties to 1260°C (2300°F). They have flexural and compressive strength in the range of high temperature plastic but retain strength and utility to levels far exceeding maximum use temperatures of plastics. Mechanical properties of Type RS-100 sheets exceed those of asbestos cement materials over all temperature ranges. Their high Alumina content make them resistant to many environments including molten aluminum. They are not brittle and have high impact resistance. Type RS-100 is useful both as a full size panel and as a source for precision cut fabricated components. Type RS-200 Boards have all the properties of Type RS-100 with higher strength due to a finer reinforcement structure. This property makes Type RS-200 ideal for applications where intricate machining detail is needed. Types RS-101 and RS-201 & RS-202 Cylinders are fiber reinforced ceramic laminates in a cylindrical form. They exhibit the same properties as Type RS-100 and RS-200 respectively.

Standard cylinders have textured inside and outside surfaces (which mimics the structure of the reinforcing fabric). Ends are saw cut. Burnished surfaces are available on a custom basis.
Our forming process allows a wide range of cylinders to be made from inside diameter of 3/4″ with lengths to 72″ to inside diameter of 36″ with lengths to 36″ and wall thickness of 1/16″ to 1″.
